This is my seventh season with Blue Royals Volleyball Academy. I will be coming up on 25 years of being a part of the sport, as a player and now as a coach.
I learned the fundamentals of volleyball at my local Boys and Girls Club. I played both years in middle school as an outside hitter and a middle blocker for all four years in high school. I was approached to try out for club volleyball in middle school and played all through high school. Most of my experience in club volleyball, I was playing up in the age group. I grew and became a better athlete by playing with girls that were older. I learned not just from my coach but my fellow teammates. When I graduated from high school, I continued to play volleyball for Western Washington University club team as a setter.
I always wanted to learn and grow, as a player and person. I believe that everyone has room to improve, even myself as a coach. To be a great teammate, you need to push yourself and your fellow teammates to be the best that you can be.
I expect hard work and the desire to learn as a player and a teammate. I hope to share my love for the sport and competitive spirit to create a team and lifelong friendships. I expect girls to always try their best and play for their teammates. I am excited to coach this season and hope to help the girls learn and grow!
